Terms

Plain terms for a small app.

The app

Dear Dates is free to download and use. You can add as many dates as you like, with milestones, reminders and memories, and keep them on your device for as long as you like. There is no trial and no card needed.

The subscription

Online backup, sync across devices and family sharing are an optional subscription, currently £0.99 a month. It is billed through the App Store or Google Play under their terms, renews automatically until cancelled, and can be cancelled at any time from your Apple ID or Google Play subscriptions page. Cancelling stops backup, sync and sharing; your dates stay on your device.

Your content

The dates, notes and memories you add are yours. We claim no rights over them. If you turn on sync, you give us permission to store them and send them to the devices and family members you choose, and nothing more.

Family sharing

When you share dates with someone, they can see and, where you allow it, edit those dates. Only share with people you trust, and only share dates you are happy for them to see.

Reminders

Reminders are scheduled by your phone. We do our best to make them reliable, but phones sometimes silence or delay notifications. Please don't rely on Dear Dates alone for anything where a missed reminder would cause real harm.

Availability

The app itself works offline and does not depend on our servers. The sync service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance. We'll try to keep such interruptions short.

Liability

Dear Dates is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the app or the sync service, including missed reminders or lost data. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change when we do, and material changes will be mentioned in the app's release notes.
